Leatrice Leinaala Silva, 71, of Pahala died Feb. 26 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Pahala, she was retired from Laupahoehoe Transportation Company and a member of Naalehu Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Memorial talk 1 p.m. Saturday (March 19) at Naalehu Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Urn committal at Naalehu Community Cemetery; luncheon at Punaluu Beach Park. Casual attire; no flowers. Violet Puanani Ortiz Silva, 77, of Pahoa died Feb. 26 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, she was a homemaker and member of New Hope East Hawaii and the Hilo Adult Day Center. Survived by sons, Michael Ortiz of Hilo and David Ortiz of South Dakota; daughter, Valerie Ortiz of Hilo; Caregiver, Brenda Parks of Pahoa, HI; brothers, Arthur Anderson Jr.,Robert Anderson and Snooky Anderson of Waianae, Oahu; sister, Leilani Pinero of Waianae; seven grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews; great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews. Fujie “Fudge” Takayama, 89, of Hilo died Feb. 11 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a retired Social Security Administration claims representative and member of Waiakea Uka Bible Church.
